Janine McGrath
Janine McGrath is a Melbourne based-actor, born in a small Victorian country town, but raised inner-city. Too tall to fulfill her dreams of becoming a ballerina, Janine turned to teaching and choreography. She enjoyed a short spurt as a school teacher and a long career in the dance world before her attraction to acting. Janine's had significant roles in a horror feature, numerous short films, TVC's, training videos and play readings. Her training is ongoing, and has included courses with Howard Fine Studios, NIDA, Greg Apps' TAT and multiple workshops and seminars. Janine was awarded Best Actress for her reading of Nell (aka Natasha Pavlova) in Gerard Lewis Fitzgerald's play 'Portrait of a Rebel Heart' for the Cracked Actors' Theatre (CAT) Summer Readings 2023. She was a finalist for Best Actress in 2021 for her role of Idylla in Lourdes Zamanillo's 'Memorials', and Best Supporting Actress in 2022 for her portrayal of Belinda Voulch in Helene Dunlop's 'Mrs Bin', both at the CAT.
